James Otto - French Horn

James teaches middle school band, assists with the high school bands in Chelsea and has been a band and orchestra director for 28 years.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Brass Winds Performance from the University of Michigan and has been playing the French Horn for 41 years.  He has performed with the Croswell Opera House in Adrian, the Chelsea Area Players, the Plymouth Symphony, Toledo Symphony, Jackson Symphony, soloist and first horn with the Hillsdale College /Community Orchestra as well as many other regional community orchestras, churches and brass ensembles.  Jim is currently performing with the Liberty Brass Quintet and area musical theater orchestras and is an adjunct Horn instructor at Albion College.
