Lisa Tarzia - Violin

Lisa was born and raised in Ann Arbor, MI where she was a student in one of the first Suzuki programs in the United States.  She received her Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and Masters degree from New York University.

She spent one semester in Matsumoto, Japan along with her mother studying Suzuki Pedagogy with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki of the famed Suzuki Method and she has Suzuki teacher certification and extensive teaching experience at all levels.  Lisa has been playing violin professionally as well as teaching young violinists since 1987; in SE Michigan, at the Hartt Preparatory School in Connecticut and in New York City.  She has performed both nationally and internationally including a concert tour of China.  She has extensive Orchestral, Musical Theatre, Ballet and Opera experience.

Currently Lisa lives in Ann Arbor, MI where she maintains a private studio.  In addition to her private studio teaching, Lisa performs with many orchestras throughout SE Michigan and is a member of American Federation of Musicians Local 5 (Detroit).
